šø 5 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Was 25
Ah, 25.
The age that felt so far away when I was a teenager.
It was the āgrown-upā number, and I thought Iād have it all figured out by then. Spoiler alert: I didnāt. š
But I did learn a lot along the way! Iāve always been one to reflect on my journey, and today, I want to share the 5 things I wish I knew before I turned 25.
These lessons have shaped me, and I hope they help you too, whether youāre in your early twenties or just looking for a little perspective. āØ
1. You Donāt Have to Have Everything Figured Out Right Now
We live in a world that pressures us to have our entire life planned out by a certain ageāgraduate, get the job, buy the house, find the partner, have it all. But guess what? Life is messy, and not knowing exactly where you're headed is okay. Some of the best opportunities come from being open to the unexpected.
If you're in that "figuring it out" phase, I highly recommend investing in a journal or planner to help organize your thoughts and dreams. It helps me stay focused, but itās also great for setting intentions and tracking progressāeven when Iām not 100% sure where Iām going. š
2. Self-Care Is More Than Just Bubble Baths (Though Theyāre Great Too!)
I used to think self-care was just a cute face mask and a relaxing bath. And while thatās absolutely part of it, true self-care is about setting boundaries, managing your mental health, and nurturing your soul. Taking time for yourself isnāt selfishāitās necessary. When youāre running on empty, you canāt show up as the best version of yourself.
3. Itās Okay to Let Go of Relationships That Donāt Serve You
Whether itās friendships, romantic relationships, or family dynamics, not every relationship is meant to last forever. Iāve learned the hard way that itās okay to let go of people who drain you or donāt bring positivity into your life. Surrounding yourself with people who support and uplift you is a game-changer.
If youāre in need of a little guidance or affirmation, I canāt recommend positive affirmation cards enough! They have been a great reminder to stay true to myself, especially when Iāve had to let go of negative energy. š«
4. Investing in Your Health Early Pays Off
I always thought I could "deal with" my health later. But the truth is, the habits you create in your twenties are the foundation for your thirties and beyond. Whether itās eating well, working out, or managing stress, prioritizing your health now will pay off in the long run.
If you're looking for an easy way to boost your health and energy, I highly recommend a smoothie maker, Iām obsessed with my Ninja. Itās my go-to for making quick, nutritious smoothies packed with protein, greens, and antioxidants. Plus, they taste delicious! š„š
5. Comparison is the Thief of Joy
Itās easy to fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others, especially with social media constantly highlighting everyoneās best moments. But hereās the thing: you are on your own unique path. Comparing your journey to someone elseās only steals your joy. Focus on your growth, your progress, and your wins. Your journey is beautiful in its own way!
Final Thoughts: Embrace the Journey āØ
Turning 25 was a big wake-up call for me, but also a reminder to be kind to myself and trust the process. The lessons Iāve learned (the hard way sometimes) have helped me grow into the person I am today, and Iām excited to keep evolving! If you're in your twenties, donāt rush the processālife is about finding balance, joy, and growth, no matter where you are in your journey.
Remember, itās okay to not have it all figured out, but itās also important to take care of yourself along the way. š
